Course Overview

Web3 is the latest iteration of the internet that aims to establish a decentralized online network where users have ownership and control over their contents and assets using blockchain technology. Web3 hosts decentralized apps (dApps) and emphasizes user privacy and data ownership. Compared to Web1.0 which was read-only and Web2.0 that is read-write, Web3 is read-write-own, transmitting value and creating wealth, or the Internet of Value. The
technology behind Web3, such as blockchain, cryptocurrencies, smart contracts, dApps, NFT, DeFi, Metaverse, and more, students will learn through interactive classroom lectures, demos, and hands-on workshops. The course also covers existing regulations that apply to Web3, including anti-money laundering, data protection, copyright, and intellectual property. It is designed to be comprehensive yet easy to learn, to prepare participants for their own Web3
projects after the course. Additionally, Web3 organizations known as DAO, which are managed by a community without a central authority and make decisions based on consensus, have emerged as a key feature of Web3.

What you will gain:

The course aims to equip participants with an in-depth understanding of web3 fundamentals, covering essential concepts like decentralized networks, blockchain-based decentralized ledger technologies, consensus algorithms, security protocols such as hashing and dual key encryption, and more. Participants will also gain a grasp of programmable blockchains, specifically Ethereum, which features smart contracts for generating digital assets
like tokens, NFTs, and dApps, including DeFi. Moreover,

the course offers hands-on workshops that will teach participants how to create dApps and tokens using Visual Studio Code and set up a private Ethereum blockchain to run simulated crypto mining. Furthermore, students will learn to develop and deploy smart contracts through development frameworks like Hardhat, Alchemy, True, and Ganache.
